Acrylic Artist Inks are acrylic based inks that come in intense, heavily pigmented colors for use in many applicators – perfect for calligraphy, pen & wash, technical drawing, airbrushing, dripping, and washes. These inks work well for filling spray bottles and in refillable marker type tools. (Montana brand works great!)

These inks are washable in water while wet, making cleanup quick and easy. Brushes, pens and airbrushes clean easily in water. They come in a tip resistant bottle with a dropper tip to make filling tools and direct application easy. They need to be shaken before use and they have a stainless steel ball in the bottle to help with mixing. Acrylic Artist Inks are lightfast, permanent and are available in 12 signature Pam Carriker Palette colors along with black and white.

Pam Carriker’s Mixed Media Adhesive

A quality adhesive is vital to Mixed Media Artists, and Pam Carriker’s Signature Mixed Media Adhesive (MMA) will help you achieve results you can’t with traditional collage glues.  Non-sticky and extremely matte in both feel and appearance, MMA makes it possible to use any other media over it with no tell-tale line where the adhesive ends. MMA is so matte that even delicate watercolor applications, pencil sketches, and fine art pens can be used right over the top of it. Worries about paper wrinkles or bubbles disappear as MMA handles even tissue paper with ease and keeps Art Journal pages from sticking together. Try MMA today and feel the difference!

With Derivan Liquid Pencil you can get graphite in your art without apencil in your hand! Pam Carriker’s signature line of Liquid Pencil Sketching Ink is nothing less than an entirely new medium—a graphite ink that’s easy to use in myriad mixed media techniques. It comes in a handy squeeze bottle with a special tip usable for direct application or to refill regular ink tools. Available in both Permanent and Rewettable formulas for a wide range of techniques, Sketching Ink can be used to ink rubber stamps, as a dip pen ink, or as paint. The Rewettable formula can be manipulated using traditional drawing tools like erasers, blending stumps, or even wet brushes, and the Permanent formula can even be burnished to a lovely sheen. Put those boring pencils away and discover a whole new way to get the look of graphite in your art with Pam Carriker’s Sketching Ink!

Survey Says…

In answer to “What is your most asked question?”

Survey says, “When will your Mixed Media Adhesive be available?”

The answer is, “NOW!”

Now available online HERE at the Interweave Store

There is a video tutorial up on the site so you can see why this is different from any other collage adhesive out there.

Here is a sample journal page using the Mixed Media Adhesive to collage black and white copies of snippets of my artwork and then I used water colors and black pens over the top.

Stashing my Stash

I am finally down to one box left to unpack in my studio, but that will have to wait until after I finish things for a couple of deadlines coming up fast!

So this week, as I put things away, I kept asking myself, ‘How do I stash my stash’?  This is something we all deal with and whenever you move or reorganize your space you have to figure out what works best for you.

I decided that a trip to Target and Lowe’s was in order and I purchased some shelf units and plastic storage drawers. I need functional storage for my closet, not worried about ‘pretty’ and I need to be able to expand it as my time and wallet allow.

I received my first boxes of products from Matisse and I’m thrilled to finally have a huge closet space to store this type of thing in. I will add more shelves as needed to accommodate product.

Drawers will hold stamp sheets all neat and tidy

and I love these over the door shoe organizers. I keep all of my flyers, postcards etc in them.

Mailing supplies all grouped together will be handy. I used to keep them in a different room at our old house so I’m glad that I will be able to have everything I need in one space.

My stash of cute workshop aprons hangs at one end of the long closet.

Believe it or not, but one of my first workspaces was in a closet about 1/2 the size of this. I was thrilled when I converted that closet into my own private workspace. Work with what you have, carve out your little niche and don’t let not having a ‘studio’ keep you from creating. You can create no matter what your space is, even if it’s a spot at the kitchen table. I can say this because I have done it.

See, my one last box left to unpack! I hope the missing drawer in my shelf unit is in there-lol!

I have my stuff stashed and still have room to grow vertically in this storage space. I picked shelf units that can be added onto as needed and that are inexpensive. For now I’m good. My things are unpacked and I can work in my studio. I will add to and adjust things as needed down the road, but for now I love having a space to work in again~

PS. Checkout Interweaves Stash Buster Sale this week! Lots of cool things at this annual Post Labor Day Sale and there is even a flicker group you can upload your photos to making you eligible to win cool prizes!! Be sure to check it out!!

Officially Excited!

Well, I’ve shared a bit about working on some things with Derivan Matisse and yesterday I signed on the dotted line to make it official-a product line of new and exciting art supplies! This is something I’m so excited about, things I want for art supplies in my own studio and now I get to help make them available to you as well.

This company produces top-notch artist paints and mediums making it very easy to say yes to working with them. I’ll share more specific details when I can, but I want to thank everyone for the well wishes on Facebook. It is so wonderful to be able to share and celebrate things in that way with each other.

I’ve also been busy getting ready for two upcoming Art Retreats. Here are some samples of what I’m teaching. I’m really looking forward to it and hope to see some of you there!
