Mail Art

Two fun things today to share! One is that I just finished my article for the new publication from Stampington & Co, Somerset Apprentice. I decided to mail my WIP pieces and final copy in a package decorated to go with the artwork. It has been fun and exciting working on this project and the people are so nice at Somerset, I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This is all the glimpse you get until March:-)

My second little bit of happy news, is that I again placed third at Mind Wide Open. My prize is another of Gail’s lovely collage sheets. I will have to really wrack my brain to come up with something stupendous for next month, stiff competition over there! That is the fun of it though, stretching yourself. Thank you all who visited and voted over there. Hope you all have a creative day!

Exciting News!

I have some exciting news to share! Yesterday, after having been out of town for a couple of days, I returned home to find an email from the editor of Somerset waiting for me. Somerset is apparently going to launch a new publication next March. It will be called ‘Somerset Apprentice’ and geared towards helping people create ‘Somerset styled’ artwork. They want to use a collage that I sent in for their ‘Turquoise’ art call for Stamper’s Sampler, and have me do an article geared towards beginners, explaining step by step, how to create it. I am soooo excited! I will be in the inaugural issue. I know that this is a ways off, but they said I could post it on my blog to help with creating a “buzz” about their new publication. It sounds like a wonderful idea, as I’m sure a lot of us would love to have more in depth instructions on some of the artwork we see in Somerset Studio. I feel very honored to have been asked and I am so looking forward to working on this.
