Today is one of those rainy, windy, don’t want to leave the house kind of days. The kind where you want to cuddle up in your cozy nest and work in your journal, read a good book, or maybe get ambitious and make some cookies. I’m doing all of those things as well as finishing off this new piece for my etsy shop.
I have also added custom cut mats to all of my fine art prints so that they are easy to pop into an 8×10 frame with no worries about have a special mat cut. I’m offering the same type of mattes in a 5×7 size for my ATC/ACEO’s also, making them great for framing.
Hope you have some quiet, nesting time today~enjoy

A New Beginning

Busy working like a fiend, but managed to finish this finally and get it listed. No journal page today, but at least some art and lots of writing. Hope you are all being productive:-) The sun is out and makes me long for spring, but that cold 30 degree temp is keeping me inside. This piece feels just like that to me. Longing for spring flowers on a bright, cold, winter day.
Misty Mawn’s latest piece inspired me a bit with this one. I love her use of white. She gets so much texture from a simple color palette.

Just Had To Share

I just had to stop at Michael’s and use my 40% off coupon on the way home from the girlfriends annual cookie exchange this morning! I have been having so much fun playing with my new toys this afternoon, that I have to share what I bought with you. I purchased a small 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 journal a bit ago, just for traveling and to make myself work outside the normal size I use and experiment with different mediums as the pages are not watercolor paper. I saw a set of Pitt Pens that had brush tips and were in all shades of gray to black. This looked like fun. Pitt pens are awesome because you can paint over the ink without fear of bleeding. These pages are what I did with them this afternoon. I have only used the pens, graphite pencil and white gel pen. I am in love! I could even add color if I wanted to. These will be going with me on my trip for sure! I just love new toys and making myself work differently than I normally do.

Home Sweet Home

We are home! It seemed like we were gone forever and over so fast if that makes any sense. It was a wonderful break from everyday life. I met an artists selling prints of his work on the island of Tortola. What a life! Painting in lush, tropical surroundings and meandering down to the beach when the cruise ships come in.
I, of course, took my journal and my travel art kit, and by starting several pages at home, was able to complete them while I was away. Can’t be away from art for too long:-) I will share more later, but here is a page for now. Glad to hear you had lovely Thanksgivings, shared with family and friends.
Just for Christmas, I am offering free shipping in the US and Canada the first week in December, on any purchase of an original piece of artwork from my etsy shop.
