Today’s stop is Sue Pelletier! Sue was an easy choice for a contributor. Her work is so textural and fun, and beautiful. It makes me want to play at art. Her teaching skills shine through from her day job as an Art Teacher.
Sue’s contribution to my book is a fabulous project that reminds me so much of the dresses my mom made for my sister and I when we were young. My favorite dress was a lavender jumper with purple satin lining. I still remember the feel of that dress. Kind of like a security blanket with tattered satin binding, I’d sit in school and rub the lining between my fingers. Wearing clothes my mom made for me allowed me to take her love and the security of home with me when my school days began.
Sadly I’m not a sewer, but when Sue’s project came along I knew that I didn’t have to sew to re-create my favorite dress!
I hope the projects in this book will inspire you to recall special moments, feelings, and events in your life and use them in your artwork.
