Well, I am a tad behind, yikes, it’s my turn for See It, Say It Saturday at ZNE! Well, if you noticed the date on this post, it’s um, Sunday-sorry! I’ve had a sinus infection coupled with bronchitis this past week and kind of gotten behind on a few things. I am honored to call Michelle Dobell, my splishy-splashy, friend from down under! She is the creator of my inspiration piece, ‘Sea Siren’.
When I chose this piece, she had not yet completed the tail, and it is spectacular! Take a close up look at the texture she has achieved with the fibers. It is just lovely. I met Michelle while taking an online class and we hit it off, and now regularly read each others emails over our morning cup of coffee. She is a warm, funny, lovely person who has a passion for art and creates lovely works. She also has a huge heart and shares her passion with children. You can read about her on her blog, http://funkysiren.blogspot.com/ and you can see her work on ZNE by clicking the title to this post.
I did this journal page not too long after I met her, wanting to capture a bit of her spirit and love of the sea. It never ceases to amaze me, the friends I have made online. Such support in my art life, that while my family loves and supports me, they don’t always ‘get’ the artist me. Kuddos to you Michelle! Raising my coffee cup to you girl!
