Well, the New Year is almost here, so it’s time to start some new and exciting projects! Way back in October, I applied for a Design Team position with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. They have some “classic stamps with a touch of whimsy” that you should really check out. The appealing thing about this challenge, besides working with the designer, Nicole La Cour, is that one of the requirements is that we have to submit to 9 publications in the following year. This is a huge motivation to push me to submit on a regular basis. Submitting for publication can be a scary thing, but oh so rewarding when you see your work in print! I just received my latest Cloth, Paper, Scissors mag and am sooo excited to see where my work will be published next issue!
I had the pleasure to take a class from Nicole a few months ago, and am so happy to be able to work with such a warm, talented gal! She’s busy right now getting together our Welcome Baskets, which will be full of her wonderful stamps (that she presses herself) and other stamping goodies. What a great Christmas gift!
This next year holds exciting possibilities for all of us starving artists! We just need to take a few risks, putting our art “out there” and let the opportunities find us! So go ahead, take a chance, if it doesn’t work out, try again! Make things happen!!!
Happiest of Artistic New Years to all of my artsy friends!
