Get the Lead Out! Mixing media with Liquid Pencil
Full Day Workshop
Kit Fee: $15.00

Derivan Liquid Pencils are a relatively new medium that allows you to add the soft look of graphite to your work in a multitude of ways! With different tints in both permanent and rewettable formulas, they offer a wide range of creativity and allow you to ‘sketch’ without picking up a pencil! I’ve been working with the creators of Liquid Pencil and am excited to have a new line of products that includes Pam Carriker’s Sketching Ink, making this new medium especially user friendly to mixed media artists.

If you love the look of pencil but are unsure of your drawing skills, this class will give you exactly what you need to add sketching to your artwork. For the more advanced student the sky’s the limit when you add this to what you already do and I will show you the many different techniques possible with this innovative product! We will combine Liquid Pencil with acrylics, water colors, water soluble media, stamping, sketching, and even use it to create texture, covering a multitude of mixed media techniques.

Busting Out 3D Faux Paper Mache Self-Portraits
Full Day Workshop
Kit Fee: $20.00

It’s time to take creating portraits to a whole new level! Creating a 3-D portrait bust that is really a dimensional self portrait journal page, incorporating collage, journaling, sculpting, and painting. We will bring Styrofoam wig forms to life, and create work that is reflective of who we are at this moment in time.

This class is about more than just creating a beautiful piece of Art, it’s about making a visual statement about who we are, what we stand for, and where we want to go. I featured one of these busts in my book, Art at the Speed of Life, and what you can’t see in the picture are the layers of under journaling that was part of the process. We all are made up of layers and most of us can put on a pretty good outward face, but it’s what’s underneath that matters most. Join me as we dig down to find out what’s behind the face the world sees.

Kit Includes: Life size wig form, collage papers, blending stump, Prima flowers and other collage bits  All other paints and mediums supplied by instructor
