New Facebook Group for those working through my book!

I always love it when people comment with great ideas!! My new Facebook page stems from a comment on a recent post. I created a page for those working through the lessons in my latest book, CREATING Art at the Speed of LifeThis is where you can share your own work from my book, ask questions, get feedback (even privately if want to message me for a personal critique) get information on supplies and substitutions and really anything book related. I’ve loved seeing the work that’s already being shared  and hope many more of you will join in the fun of this online class-like setting I’m creating. N

Did you know you can also share your work on AMAZON?!! I’d love it if you did and also if you have a minute to leave a short review or feedback for my book it’s very much appreciated!!

I hope to see you on my CREATING Art at the Speed of LIfe Facebook page and if you want to follow all of my art happenings I also have  Pam Carriker’s Art page. I’ll have some exciting news to bring you in the near future there so follow along to get the latest!

Here’s a sneak peek at upcoming releases you’ll want to stay tuned for:

Summer is almost here and it’s a great time to work through the 30 lessons in CREATING Art at the Speed of Life so I hope you’ll join in to stay creative and motivated with your art!

A Peek Inside Creating Art at the Speed of Life

I don’t know if you know this or not but I actually made a journal full of all of the lessons in my second book, Creating Art at the Speed of Life. This journal is where all of the projects in the book came from. I take this journal with me when I teach journaling classes so some have been able to actually look through it in person, but for those who can’t I thought I’d share a few of the pages with you.

I often get tagged in a photo of someone else’s journey through my book and there is no greater thrill than seeing someone enjoy my book!! That’s the whole reason behind sharing in this way, to hopefully help others on their own creative journey.

I would love to see even more journal pages inspired by the lessons in my book! Did you know that you can actually post pictures of those pages on the books amazon page? You can, and I’d love to invite you to do so!! There are a couple of pictures there already, but it would be awesome to see more!! And while you’re there I’d really appreciate it if you’d take a minute to leave a review for the book. I get so many people telling me they love it, but the most helpful thing is to leave a review to share with others.

I’d also love to hear from you here. What was your favorite lesson so far? Did you complete your journal? Stuck on a lesson? Question about a product? Feel free to comment on this post and I’ll do my best to answer if you have any questions:-)

Is starting an Art Journal on your Bucket List??? If so this book can help you achieve that goal!!

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your pages!!! And if you’d like to share of Facebook, I’ve also just created a page on there specifically for the book:-)

Hurt Book Sale

Interweave Announces Annual Hurt Book Sale Deals

Huge savings for artists and crafters lasts June 8-12, 2012; Shop online for 30–70 percent off your favorite art and craft books

Loveland, Colo., June 8, 2012: Interweave announced today the opening day of sales for its annual Hurt Book Sale, with savings up to 70 percent off during this annual five-day event.

More than 400 art and craft resources will be deeply discounted and sold online on a first-come basis during the Hurt Book Sale, beginning today through 11:59 p.m. MDT on Tuesday, June 12. This is Interweave’s largest online book sale ever, with deep discounts on backlist and recently published books on the topics of drawing, painting, quilting, beading, jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, felting, spinning, weaving, needlework, sewing, mixed-media and other popular arts and crafts.

EVEN my book, Art at the Speed of Life has been ‘hurt’:-( Doesn’t it just make you want to pick it up, take it home and care for it?!

“Our Hurt Book Sale is one of our most highly-anticipated sales events of the year,” says Interweave Books Marketing and Sales Director Elisabeth Malzahn. “With prices slashed as low as 70-percent off retail for many of our books, we know that many budget-watching artists and crafters will find some good deals.”
Hurt books are still in good condition but may have slight imperfections, like minor dings, a scratch on the cover, or a bent page. In addition to the huge discounts on hurt books, Interweave will be offering exclusive discounts on overstock books, eBooks, and book-related DVDs and video downloads during the sale.

Read some of the excitement on Twitter and Facebook around last year’s Hurt Book Sale on Storify:

“We love hearing our customers brag about the deals they snag each year,” adds Malzahn.
This year’s sale will also feature bundled deals on a variety of products, which will be announced to the company’s e-newsletter subscribers and on the Interweave Books’ Facebook page.Hurt and overstock books can be combined with normal products at check-out. Interweave’s Hurt Book Sale is for online customers only and no phone orders will be accepted.

Brand New Online Class Starts June 6th!

Hi Everyone!
Just a reminder that my brand new online workshop, Still Pursuing Portraits, begins June 6th and is now open for registration! This class is being taught through Artful Gathering, and online Art Retreat, and will last for 6 weeks but for the first time I’m offering a DVD of all the video lessons along with a PDF download. The DVD comes in a hard case as pictured below and is being done through a company that will ship it directly to you, allowing you to choose your own shipping method. So even if you are worried about the 6 week time frame of the workshop, you can rest easy knowing you have the DVD to refer back to forever! This is the first time I’ve offered a DVD and I’ve very excited about it. It’s also the only new online class I will be doing  for awhile and I’ve had several emails asking when I’ll be offering another  portrait class, so be sure to take a look if you are interested as it will only be open for registration through June 20th!  If you do decide to join me there, please take a minute to leave a comment on my sponsor page to be entered into a drawing for a prize package from me!
