10,000 Hits, Time To Say Thank You!

Wow, that was so fun to see the meter reach 10,000 hits! I actually missed seeing the actual number, I went to bed a few shy and got up and it was over. This whole blogging community is so wonderful. I started this out of neccessity, or so I thought, only to find a warm, ever widening, circle of friends. You are all so inspiring. It is so encouraging to visit each other and see what is going on in everyone’s life, and to watch each other grow as artists.

To thank you, I would love to give one of you these two new 8×10 prints! The originals were purchased by a gallery, but I just loved them, so I printed out only one set in 8×10 size. Just leave a little note on this post and next Wednesday I will draw one of your names. Thank you for visiting my blog, and leaving little notes that are so encouraging to me
Feel free to post these images on your blog to let your friends know about the giveaway. I love to go and visit, so I will come to everyone who signs up and say ‘hi’! Get the coffee cups out!

Exciting News!

Wow! This morning I looked at my hit counter, and it is at 9,900 since I installed it! I’m feeling a little give away when it hits the 10,000 mark, so stay tuned…

I have some of exciting news to share with you. Gail Schmidt, of Shabby Cottage Studios, and Mind Wide Open, is now going to offer online workshops at Creative Workshops! She has asked me to teach one and I am very excited to do so. I will be teaching ‘Visual Journalism 101‘ starting January 12th. I will post more when it gets a bit closer and registration is open for the class, but you can head over to Creative Workshops and check out Sherry Smyth’s class, ‘Home For The Holidays’ and join the network.

January 2009 will also see two articles and my journal pages from my first two journals published in the inaugural issue of Somerset’s ‘Art Journals’. I am so very happy to be able to share how meaningful keeping a visual journal can be, and what a valuable tool it is in creative pursuits.

Happy Birthday To Me, & You!!!

It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to, ok, I won’t cry! Even though tomorrow marks the 15th year of being 29! Can another year have gone by? Birthdays are a good time to reflect on the happenings in our lives over the last year. In my personal life, I have let one son fly out on his own, with my second son fast on his heels. My youngest turned 7 today (we are almost birthday twins) and it’s hard to believe he will be in the 2nd grade. My DH finished his novel! We are all busy with various projects, trying to leave our mark on this world. In my artistic life, I cannot even believe the ride I have been on this past year. I’m still pinching myself! In appreciation for life, blessings, and all of you, who support with your comments and well wishes, and inspire me with your talents, I am going to give a present to one of you! I will be drawing a name from the comments left on this post, next Friday. The name I draw will be gifted with ‘Abundant Love’, a 12x12x2 mixed media portrait on canvas. So leave me a little comment, tell your friends to stop by. Happy Day!
