CREATE RETREAT Blog Hop

I can’t believe it’s almost time for CREATE Irvine, CA!!! So excited to go and see my art friends and meet new ones!!

Some of the artists teaching this year are participating in a little blog hop this weekend to kick things off! Check out the Interweave blog to see a list of all participants!! Just click on the badge below to take you there!

Last year I even had a chance to take a couple of workshops myself! One was with Dawn Sokol.Kari McKnight Holbrook (my roomie:-), Dawn Sokol, Jen Cushman and I in Dawn’s class. I think she forgave us for sitting in the back row and being the ‘naughty’ kids in class;-) Be sure to check out Dawn and Jen’s books when you visit their blogs.

I got to meet the lovely Dea Fischer! She came to find me while I was signing books and I’ll be doing that again this year on June 2 from 5:00-6:00 so I hope you’ll bring your book (I’ll have a few there as well), I’d so love to meet you! Be sure to check out Dea’s new video at Interweave!

I also had the pleasure of sitting in on my BFF Joanne Sharpe’s class-what a lot of fun we had-even though she made me come to the front of class and demo some ‘PamPastels’. You just never know what is going to happen at a live retreat! That’s what makes them so fun!! There is nothing like the live interaction that takes place at these retreats.

This year I’ll be taking more pictures! I have a tendency to get caught up in the fun and forget to take very many-lol!

Also this year, I’ll be teaching 4 new workshops!

This workshop is full so I look forward to seeing you all for some journaling fun!! But I do have space in my other 3 workshops.

Chip Off the Old Block

I’m very excited that Speedball has sponsored this workshop and will be bringing lino cutters for the whole class! They also sent me some shared use class supplies to make the most of our carving experience!

If you’d like a close up look at some of my linocuts and what I do with them, check out my article in the latest issue of Somerset Studio!

Also look for my new line of stamps inspired by my carvings to come out in July!

Facing the Thermofax

Ever wonder about using a Thermofax screen on paper instead of cloth? Well in this workshop we’ll explore printing on 3 different substrates and adding a mixed media twist to them! You’ll also go home with your very own Thermofax screen designed by me!

Sketching Without Pencils

I’ll also be bringing some of my new products with me! This class will explore techniques using liquid graphite. Along with other goodies, you’ll go home with your own bottle of my Liquid Pencil Sketching Ink!

Worried about drawing your own face? No need, these were created using my Portrait Sketch Stamp to lay a map to work from. Work from the stamp or on your own!

For more detailed information on these workshops check HERE! Hope to see you there!!
