Angel Art

I have met up with several old friends from high school via Facebook. How fun to catch up and reminisce about ‘the good old days’. One of my friends was in art class with me and she asked me to paint her an angel. I used some new colored pencils recommended to me by one of the teachers from the SWM Art Teachers assoc. He very graciously shared his Prisma colored pencils at the workshop, so I just had to make a little trip to Michael’s today and wouldn’t you know they were on sale, so how could I resist? I used Pan Pastel’s a bit on the background. I just love the quote as it fits the meaning behind the piece to a “T”.

  1. Pam, this is beautiful. The color is so soft, but rich like a luscious cream filling. Prismacolor pencils are wonderful. You can do so much with them. I started several backgrounds in my Hope journal using them. I put texture plates under the pages and rubbed lightly (or not so lightly) with the prismacolor pencil laid down at an angle to get as much contact with the color to paper as possible.
