Tutorial For Art Block

I would like to invite you over to Mind Wide Open, hosted by the lovely Gail Schmidt of Shabby Cottage Studios. Gail had asked me to do a tutorial for MWO and she has posted this along with an interview by Sherry Smyth. Thank you both for the opportunity! I have loved participating in the monthly challenges over there. So go on over and take a peek and let me know if you try out the project, I would love to hear from you!

  1. Hi Pam, Thankyou for your tutorial on Mind Wide Open! You do such gorgeous and inspirational work!!!I love your style!! I am a newbie to altered art.. (scrapbooker exploring and spreading my wings).. and my biggest question has been how to do the background??? so have found your tutorial extremely helpful! However I do have one (probably dumb) question…. When did you actually apply the background paper??? Is the “substrate” actually the wooden block with the background paper already applied??I have all of the mediums and have just been unsure how to actually use them, so really appreciate your tutorial… I live in a rural remote part of Australia and have to buy these products online… so its sort of teach your self… I have some atc’s ready to make, but just not sure how to start with the background…IYKWIM… Any hints would be greatly apreciated!! Many thanks again for sharing your techniques, inspiration and fabulous works of art! Kind regards Louise

  3. Pam, I am definitely trying this out — as soon as I get my black gesso!!! It looks like fun and it looks "easy" to do. Can't wait to start! And thank you so much for agreeing to participate at MWO in this way! ♥
