The Art of Cookie Making

We are going to go and see Christopher at Fort Benning, Georgia, tomorrow! I every letter he has written, he has been longing for my chocolate chip cookie, he even said he dreams about them-lol! I guess the Army doesn’t make them, and I can’t send him any because it is considered contraband-who knew? So I am making up a big ol batch to take with us! I have to admit, next to art, I love to cook! Trying out new recipes, watching foodnetwork, and using my kitchenaid mixer are favorite pastimes. I have experimented over the years, with different chocolate chip cookie recipes. Of course, everyone loves Tollhouse cookies, but I have messed with and tweaked different recipes, until I came up with this one, which I will share with my faithful blogger friends:-) The Bag Lady’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco, or margarine

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 large egg
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp baking soda
2 cups chocolate chips
Cream together butter, shortening, and brown sugar. Add vanilla and egg. Sift dry ingredients together (I use a wisk and it’s a snap) add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
Bake at 375 for 10 min
Here is my youngest, Reagan Douglas, and I trying out the dough, ok you know you would too! Now to get them into the oven and packaged up for the trip! Baked with all of mom’s love in every bite!
Enjoy
